Christ’s death on the cross was the completion of His earthly mission, but Christ’s ascension to Heaven was the final fulfillment of His priesthood and sacrifice. The Son’s return to the Father marked the accomplishment of the New Covenant, commemorated our salvation, and secured our own welcome in Heaven.
