Human beings are both spiritual and sexual beings. Historically, the church had a negative view of human sexuality. Is there anything that’s positive about human sexuality? Sexuality is the human drive for intimate communion. It’s a longing to know and be known by another person. Since we are made in God’s image, our sexuality reflects the perfect communion between the Trinity. Another positive aspect of our sexuality is that it is linked to our spirituality. Spirituality is a longing to know and be known by God. Within our sexuality, there is a longing for a communion with our creator.
