When Colossians are distracted by false teachings, Paul redirects their focus back on Christ. As Paul begins his letter, he lifts up Jesus as the hope of the world. Jesus is the one who sent Paul to preach the word of truth to rescue the nations from the power of darkness and bring them into the kingdom of light. Moreover, Jesus gives power to His people to endure and bear fruit of the gospel around the whole world. Our hope for redemption and renewal of the creation lie in Jesus Christ.
