Hope lies in the Providence of God. The world’s abundance of cruelty and suffering does not mean the Lord lacks sovereignty or love. Although we cannot see how He works, faith means trusting that He does work, and that He will ultimately use both our fortunes and our misfortunes for the good of the righteous.
