From chapters 13 to 27, the nations of the world are judged and punished by God because they trusted in military strength, wealth or idols. The nations are contrasted with the Faithful City, where only the redeemed can enter. The redeemed trust Yahweh and obey him as king of the nations. We can be thankful that God is in firm control of the nations and of history.
