October 16: “Paul, the Planter of Gospel Communities” (Romans 15:14-33)

As he wraps up Romans, Paul shares his reasons for writing the letter and his travel plans. Paul wanted to go to Jerusalem first, then Rome, and then to Spain. We don’t know if Paul went to Spain or not. But even if Paul did not reach Spain, what matters the most is that Romans was written, which is Paul’s masterpiece. The book of Romans not only changed numerous individuals but the course of history. Martin Luther’s rediscovery of the gospel message in Romans ignited the Protestant reformation. The book of Romans continues to change people’s lives today.
