One discipline related to hearing God’s Word is the preaching of the gospel to oneself. When we do so, we need to preach the law as well. Without God’s law, the gospel cannot be good news. God’s law shows us what is right, what is wrong, and what we need. The law condemns us as sinners in need of a Savior. It leads us to the good news of Jesus Christ.
