The uniqueness of Christian prayer is rooted in Jesus’ relationship with God the Father. Jesus says that no one can know the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him. The Lord’s Prayer authorizes us to approach God as Jesus approaches God. Jesus turned an exclusive relationship with the Father into an open invitation for all of his followers. Calling God “Our Father” is a privilege for His adopted children. Are we cultivating a relationship with Our Father through personal and corporate prayer?
