It is clear that the servant in the parable is dishonest, and yet the master commends him for his shrewdness. What was wise about the steward’s action? He used money to secure his future while increasing the good reputation of his master. We are stewards of God’s possessions. God wants us to invest money into his coming kingdom. When we share wealth in Jesus’ name, His name is glorified. Do we serve God with money, or do we serve mammon in God’s name?
