Jesus is the vine and we are the branches. Jesus tells us to “remain” in him. Remaining in Jesus is having an ongoing friendship with him and receiving his life and love. We maintain our friendship with Jesus through word and prayer. We can bear fruit only if we remain in Jesus. What is the fruit? It is the fruit of love. We can love others only as we receive love from Jesus. How is your friendship with Jesus? What hinders us from abiding in him?
