God accepts those who humbly receive his mercy, not those who believe they can earn it. The good news is that Jesus did not come to call the self-righteous, but sinners who realize their need for God’s mercy. Here lies the foundation for generous living. The more we experience God’s generosity, the more we can be generous to others. Are we proudly self-sufficient or are we humble to receive God’s mercy?
