November 30: “The Son of the Most High” (Luke 1:26-38)

The angel announces the advent of a long-awaited king. The baby’s name will be Jesus. He is the Son of the Most High, the Son of David, and the Son of God. These titles reveal that Jesus is the promised king sent to save us from the result of sin and to make us sons and daughters of God. Where do we find our identity? In Christ, we find that we are God’s beloved children. Where do we find our hope? In Christ, we have hope for the completion of our salvation when everything wrong in the world will be made right.
