Mark’s Easter story contains three pieces of good news:
“He is risen!” The good news of what God had done for us in the past. Death has been defeated!
“He is going ahead of you.” The good news of what Jesus is doing for us in the present. Whatever difficulties lie ahead, Jesus is meeting them before we do.
“There you will see him.” The good news for our future. We will see Jesus face to face and become like him.
The Good News helps us to overcome fear of death, of evil, and of the future.
