The Greek word for “goodness” is a word that combines being good and doing good. Our text tells us that we were saved by God’s grace to do good works. To do good work, we need to fill our minds with God’s Word and spur one another for good works. When we do good, we will be discouraged and even opposed. But if we persevere in doing good, we will reap a harvest in God’s time.
