Zacchaeus, the chief tax collector, was the chief sinner in the eyes of Jews. They were shocked when Jesus invited himself to be a guest of the chief sinner’s house. Zacchaeus immediately welcomed Jesus with gladness. Salvation came to him with Jesus. One of the signs that we have been saved is that we are generous in sharing our possessions. And the source of generosity is a heart transformed by God’s grace. Those who have received costly love are motivated to offer costly love to others. Have you received God’s gift of salvation in faith? How grateful are we for God’s costly love?
