God tests Abraham’s faith by commanding him to sacrifice his only son Isaac on Mt Moriah. When God saw Abraham’s obedience, God spared Isaac and provided a substitute. King Solomon built God’s Temple on Mt Moriah in Jerusalem. All the animal substitutes pointed to the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. God spared Isaac and all the first born sons of Israel, but did not spare his only Son for us.
