How are we to preach the gospel to ourselves? There are two parts:
1) We go down the slope of repentance. We see and own our sin. We expose the idols of our hearts. We turn from idols.
2) We go up the slope of faith. We believe the gospel. We meditate on the following and give thanks: Jesus lived for me. Jesus died for me. God sees me in Jesus. Jesus lives in me.
This is how we are transformed and how we live by grace: we repent and believe the good news, every day of our lives.
