Psalm 2 is a messianic psalm that points to Jesus as the Messiah and the Son of God. The Psalm identifies a human problem and God’s solution. Our problem is our rebellion against God’s rule. God’s solution is Jesus. The only way to avoid God’s wrath against the rebels is to kiss the Son of God in submission. Only in Christ can we find a safe refuge from God’s wrath. Are we trying to use Jesus for our own purposes, or are we submitting ourselves to Jesus for his purposes?
